Online Viewing of SEM

CERAM can now offer live online viewing of the scanning electron microscope (SEM) through a secure VPN connection. The facility enables clients to view samples whilst they are being examined.

On line viewing is an option available when clients wish to be involved in the examination process but are physically unable to be present in person. The SEM at CERAM is a state of the art JEOL 6490-LV with Oxford instrument INCA micro analysis facility and is used for an extensive range of characterisation, fault finding and failure mechanism studies.

Staff are highly skilled at interpreting microstructures of materials and have an extensive range of expertise. The SEM is part of an extensive array of microstructural characterisation facilities at CERAM including SEM, optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis and hot stage microscopy.
