| Manufacturers face increasing energy costs and increasing demands to reduce non-recyclable waste, both of which can directly affect the sustainability and viability of their businesses. Companies have become much more environmentally aware and the enforcement of legislation creates additional pressure to reduce emissions and waste by products. This has led to the renewed emphasis on alternatives to landfill disposal and the use of waste as value added product. To help companies find ways to improve their performance in these areas we operate a Resource Interest Group to bring together manufacturers and suppliers with the intention of finding and developing ways to help each other and learn about the legislation they must adhere to. As part of our service to this group we actively search for potential opportunities to develop projects which can access funding to undertake more thorough analysis and assessment. In addition, we provide regular environmental bulletins to all interested registered businesses to ensure that they are kept fully informed of the latest changes to legislation. Our testing and analysis facilities ensure that we can carry out fully independent UKAS accredited testing to assess conformity to standards and legislation. Where necessary we are able to develop suitable testing and analysis methods to validate compliance with new legislation. Related Resources:
