Development of New Colour Reference StandardsAfter seeking expert advice in the development and production of colour reference materials, a multinational production company has acquired a number of CERAM Colour Standards. This allows its development laboratories around the world to monitor the performance of their colour measurement instruments thereby ensuring that the colour of their products is consistent regardless of where they are produced. CERAM Technology Limited, the internationally renowned centre for Colour Standards, undertook a development programme on behalf of an international producer. The brief was to produce a permanent ceramic standard to a defined colour so that users of colour measurement instruments could be confident that their instruments were correctly set up before any measurements were made of similarly-coloured products. CERAM Technology worked closely with the client to ensure that the standards were of the agreed shades and then supplied them in sufficient quantities to allow laboratories around the world to ensure that their instruments agreed with each other. Our customer's Technical Director commented; “The project has added value to our business. We now have permanent reference standards which we use in our laboratories worldwide to assist in our production and continuous improvement programmes.” CERAM's Chris Williamson added; “We have a lot of experience working with manufacturers in many industries, and we are often able to help companies to gain confidence in their instrument control and improve the coordination of measurements between separate factories, which is often critical to consistency of products manufactured and sold worldwide.” |
