Calibration

A UKAS Calibration Laboratory since 1992 (UKAS No. 0420), our service provides Calibration Certificates for Reflectance measurements on standards for colorimetric work.
Work is carried out in our purpose-built laboratory, using equipment and standards that are directly traceable to the National Physical Laboratory at Teddington.

Services

We can calibrate both our own standards and those produced in other materials. A certificate is provided for each sample, giving all relevant information in easy-to-use tables, along with details of the measurement procedure and accuracy. These certificates are suitable for use in the ISO9000 series of Quality Control Procedures.

For our standards, we recommend recalibration once every 5 years. Despatch is usually within 10 working days of receipt of order and samples. Confidentiality of information is strictly observed for all our clients

We also offer routine testing of colour, under UKAS Testing Accreditation (0013), on a wide variety of materials in order to provide our clients with a quick, reliable service.

Benefits of our Calibration Services

  • Traceability of laboratory and factory measurements when National or Internationally recognized standards are operated.
  • Improved co-ordination of measurements between separate factories and between manufacturers of assembled components.
  • Supply of UKAS Calibration Certificates, which are internationally recognized and can help manufacturers gain recognition in a worldwide marketplace.
  • Durability and stability ensure confidence in long term on-site use.

Range of Calibrations

All samples, both matt and gloss surfaced, can be calibrated for Specular Included (8/t) and Specular Excluded (8/d) Geometries, while our gloss surfaced standards may also be calibrated for 0/45 Geometry. Data provided; Reflectance at 5nm intervals 380 - 780nm, CIE Y, x, y, u', v', L*, a*, b*, C*, H* for 2 and 10 Degree Observers and Illuminants D65, C and A. Optional Reflectance data at 10nm and 20nm intervals.
